Camus House is a Victorian family home and four-bedroom guest house, built in 1892 and quietly steeped in character. From the moment you step inside, you are met by a grand reception hallway, where antique pine panelling and an original carved staircase speak softly of another age. Many of the house’s 19th-century features have been carefully preserved, sitting comfortably alongside thoughtful modern touches that ensure a relaxed and comfortable stay.
Outside, the house is embraced by mature gardens that feel both tended and gently wild—lawns giving way to woodland, with space to pause, wander, and breathe. Beyond the grounds, the wider landscape unfolds in all its quiet drama.
Our aim is simple: to share a genuine connection to this place. The Scottish Highlands have a way of slowing time, and here at Camus House, we invite guests to experience that stillness. Whether you are exploring the shores of Loch Linnhe, walking through Glenachulish, or standing in the vast, humbling beauty of Glencoe, this is a place to unwind, to discover, and to carry a little of the Highlands with you when you leave.

Welcome to Camus House — Camus, meaning bay, is not just our name, but a reflection of the tranquil setting we’re so lucky to call home. As a fourth-generation family-run retreat, we offer an adults-only haven designed for rest, relaxation, and a true escape from the everyday.
While we’re unable to accommodate guests’ pets, we do have two of our own beloved dogs, who are kept away from guest areas to ensure your comfort and peace.
Here, nature sets the pace. Whether you're basking in the golden glow of a summer sunset over the loch, or watching the mountains come alive with cascading waterfalls during a storm, there is beauty in every season. The scenery that surrounds us is simply unforgettable — and we often hear from guests that once you've visited, you carry a piece of Camus with you forever.
